Live Max/MSP improvisation made from field recordings of desert music, temples, and sandy wind. Premiered at The Tank, New York, NY. 15 minutes, 46 seconds.
I spent much of 2001 travelling through India collecting sounds and images. This improvisation explores field recordings made in western Rajasthan. Sources include voices in the desert, camels, temple echo, sandy wind, and my first lesson on the rawanhatha (one of the world’s earliest bowed stringed instruments, with bells attached).
